The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved defence proposals worth around ₹67,000 crore to strengthen the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The approvals aim to enhance operational capabilities while giving a major push to the Make in India initiative, with key roles for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
These big-ticket projects will modernise the armed forces and boost domestic defence manufacturing, positioning India as a stronger and more self-reliant military power.
