Illegal Surveillance in Telangana: Arvind Dharmapuri Demands Central Investigation

Shri Arvind Dharmapuri has expressed deep concern and outrage over the shocking revelations of illegal phone tapping in Telangana. He called for the BJP Telangana unit to immediately push for a thorough investigation by Central agencies. Given the apparent collusion between Shri Revanth Reddy and the KCR family, Dharmapuri noted that it is highly unlikely the State Government will act against the perpetrators, as they appear to be complicit. “As a Member of Parliament, I have not been elected to have my phone calls, bedrooms, and bathrooms illegally intruded upon. This is not just a political vendetta — it is criminal targeting,” he said. He recalled that since 2019, he has been physically attacked and persistently harassed. According to him, the KCR family is orchestrating a systematic campaign of intimidation, using State machinery as a private surveillance tool. Dharmapuri confirmed that he is formally writing to the Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Hon’ble Union Home Minister to apprise them of the situation and demand strict action. “This attack is not just on me — it is an attack on democracy, dissent, and the dignity of public representatives,” he emphasized. He also urged Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, to ensure that Central investigative agencies take up the matter with the seriousness it deserves and bring the KCR family and all those involved to justice. Following a call from a BJP Telangana office bearer, Dharmapuri has suggested that the party immediately activate its legal team and, if necessary, seek appropriate directions from the Hon’ble Court for a Central agency-led investigation. “The law must take its course. This cannot be brushed under the carpet,” he concluded.
